The Dorset 330
This one, The Dorset 330 is probably my favourite Dorset bikepacking route around here. I think if you want something a bit longer than the Dorset dash, then skip the Dorset divide, do this route instead, its not perfect, and it still hits a few sections that gets a little over grown or boggy and never seem to dry, but for the most part this routes hits all the best spots to explore and ride around Dorset.
Itโs a pretty good gravel bike route, although there are a few sections that can get a bit rough, but if is dry and the sun is shining most of the trails are hard packed and fast rolling, lots of double track Ridgway riding with epic views either side of you. It is Dorset though, and itโs not flat, so there is going to be a fair amount of climbing. The hills down in this part of the country arenโt particularly long but can be a little steep. They will get the legs burning at times.
Easy enough to get to the start and finish of this ride too as it starts in Dorchester, there is a train station with south-western, no bike booking required, does get a little busy at times though and normally only have a max of six bikes per train. (I have seen way more though)
All in all, though, I really enjoyed my few days out around the Dorset divide. The weather being sunny for the most part probably helped, but it is my favourite Dorset bikepacking route for sure.
