The Cornish Delight

The Cornish Delight, an adventure from Bournemouth to Padstow for a good old real Cornish pasty. This is a fantastic adventure with lots of gravel trails plenty of climbs, but with plenty of places to cool off in the sea and to top it off you get yourself a real Cornish pasty. A great summer Adventure. Of course this one had to be done.

This ride is a great one, especially in the warmer months as you make your way down the south coast, its hilly and can be tough Iโ€™m not going to lie, but I think the views make up for it, and there is always the beaches along the way to stop off at. The trails themselves vary from grassy trails to rocky bridal ways and gravel cycle paths and of course the odd country lanes. But overall the surfaces are mostly all ridable, there might be a few sections of hike a bike, but they are quite short. Just think of that pasty at the end.

If you decide to take on The Cornish delight Bikepacking route you will travel along the Jurassic coastline to Exeter, before a nice flat cruise around the cycle path around the estuary before heading into Dartmoor from some open rugged beauty and some epic gravel roads. Before testing, your legs on some Cornish steep country lanes, donโ€™t worry though I have given you nice easy flat finish along the camel trail all the way to Padstow to get your pasty at the Chough Bakery.

Gravel bike or MTB I think either will work, I think in the summer months the gravel bike is best, but the MTB would be good if itโ€™s particularly wet. One thing is for sure thoughโ€ฆ Have your climbing legs ready.
