AI Meets Bikepacking (A Southern Adventure)

When AI meets bikepacking, the idea was simple, with all the hype of AI taking over the world I put ChatGPT to work to come up with where I should go bikepacking, Basically I gave it some parameters, like how long, the rough area and how many miles and days I wanted to spend out on the trails. Once it gave me that information I got to work on linking up the trails to get to the places it told me too, and then I got it to write the story, and then I also wrote a story about the adventure.

What happened though was I went on a really fun adventure around Dorset and the Jurassic coastline, Devon and Somerset with 300 miles bikepacking adventure taking in the little hidden coves, the south coast’s rugged beautiful trails and Dartmoor, the Somerset levels and a little bit of Exmoor. And you know what, this turned into one of my favourite adventures. The sunny weather helped a lot, being able to jump into the sea along the south coast and just chill. (AI told me too, so I had too) he-he.

I’m putting this in intermediate, but it wouldn’t be a bad adventure to take on if you have a little experience because you can really take your time along this route, plenty of places to stop, plenty of great wild camping. But it is longish at 300 miles, and it is pretty hilly, so a decent level of fitness will be required. The terrain is a mixture of bridal ways, some are rough and bumpy and some gravel. Plenty are steep, grassy fields crossing and quiet country lanes. So there is a lot of everything along this route. If you can get 3/5 days of sunshine while doing this route, you will have a blast.
