The Canti Way

The Canti Way, another Cycling UK bikepacking route and a fine example of a great beginner route, its not all off-road but is mostly quiet roads when you are on them. This is a very chilled out route exploring the Kent downs, the coastal cliffs, 155 miles with some beautiful scenery to see along the way. You donโ€™t really need to carry too much kit as you are always around little seaside towns where you can find shops and pubs etc, and you donโ€™t really need big tyres for this one, not quite road tyres but something with a little tread, and you would be good to go, 35-40mm would be fine. Donโ€™t forget to bring a towel because a big portion of this route follows the sea.

As a lot of this route follows the coast, itโ€™s best to try to plan to do the coastal section either really early, or before or after the summer holidays, as I imagine these paths will get busy with walkers and beach goers.

The GPX here is the extended version with an added loop around Winchelsea, which is also where I started I think that is a must to really complete this route of, but head over to Cycling UK where you can get the most up to date GPX file and the slightly shorter option.
