The Canti Way

The Canti Way, another Cycling UK bikepacking route and a fine example of a great beginner route, its not all off-road but is mostly quiet roads when you are on them. This is a very chilled out route exploring the Kent downs, the coastal cliffs, 155 miles with some beautiful scenery to see along the way. You don’t really need to carry too much kit as you are always around little seaside towns where you can find shops and pubs etc, and you don’t really need big tyres for this one, not quite road tyres but something with a little tread, and you would be good to go, 35-40mm would be fine. Don’t forget to bring a towel because a big portion of this route follows the sea.

As a lot of this route follows the coast, it’s best to try to plan to do the coastal section either really early, or before or after the summer holidays, as I imagine these paths will get busy with walkers and beach goers.

The GPX here is the extended version with an added loop around Winchelsea, which is also where I started I think that is a must to really complete this route of, but head over to Cycling UK where you can get the most up to date GPX file and the slightly shorter option.
